Frances was born on April 16th, 1835.  Frances' father was Henry Wharin and her mother was Frances Unknown.  Her paternal grandparents were Jarvis Wharin and Mary Barber. She had four brothers and a sister, named Jarvis, Henry, William, John and Mary.  She was the third oldest of the six children.
