Sydney was born in April 1864.  Sydney's father was Tebbutt Hill and his mother was Mary Maria Murrell.  His paternal grandparents were John Worthington Hill and Mary Ann Unknown; his maternal grandparents were John Murrell and Mary Collings. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John Murrell, Tebbutt, Edwin, Barney //, Cecilia Mary, Kate and Mary Annie.  He was the seventh oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 71 on February 2nd, 1936 in South End Cemetery.
