Sidney was born on October 4th, 1921 in Bloemfontein. Sidney's father was James Benjamin Cinnamon and his mother was Violet Rosa Gray. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Cinnamon and Margaret Little; his maternal grandparents were Frank Gray and Cecilia Patterson. He had a sister named Phyllis. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 77 on July 6th, 1999 in Johannesburg.
