Thomas was born on February 24th, 1711 in Benenden, Kent, England.  Thomas' father was Edward Austen and his mother was Elizabeth Vane.  His paternal grandparents were Robert Austen and Mary Oliver. He had a brother and two sisters, named John, Elizabeth and Mary.  He was the oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 66 on April 1st, 1777 in Benenden, Kent, England.
