Robert Thatcher

Robert was born in 1816.

  • Robert b. 1816. In the 1841 census he was stated as aged 22; by 1851 the census said he was 33; the next in 1861 gave him as aged 47!
    By the 1871 census he was aged 55, living at 4 Cliffs Road, Cheddar. Now married, to Ann. In 1877 there is a death recorded for a Robert Thatcher agd 68; 3rd Quarter 1877, Axbridge, which might be him, since the 1881 census shows his wife as being a widow. Ages have never tallied very well throughout the records.

Robert's father was William Thatcher and his mother was Joanna. He had a brother named Joseph.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 61 in 1877.
