Philippe was born in 1676 in Thorney, Cambridgeshire and his christening took place on February 5th, 1676 in French Huguenot, Thorney, Cambridgeshire.1 2   Philippe's father was Philippe de Bailleul and his mother was Ester Clerbau.  His paternal grandparents were Jacques de Bailleul and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Andre Clerbau and Peronne le Noir. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Philippe, Jacob, Daniel, Susanne, Marie and Ester.  He was the youngest of the seven children. He had a half-brother named Phillip.
