George was born in 1777 in Church Knowle, Dorset and his christening took place there on March 9th, 1777.1 2   George's father was George Seymour Hatchard and his mother was Jenny Stickland.  His maternal grandparents were Robert Stickland and Hannah Fooks. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Robert, John, William, Thomas, William, Jenny, Elizabeth and Amelia.  He was the oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 74 in 1851 in Church Knowle, Dorset.  He was buried on November 1st, 1851 in Church Knowle, Dorset.2 1
