Jane, known as Jenny, was born in 1778 in Church Knowle, Dorset and her christening took place there on April 19th, 1778.1   Jenny's father was George Seymour Hatchard and her mother was Jenny Stickland.  Her maternal grandparents were Robert Stickland and Hannah Fooks. She had six brothers and two sisters, named George, Robert, John, William, Thomas, William, Elizabeth and Amelia.  She was the second oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 39 on January 20th, 1817 in Kimmeridge, Dorset.1
