Ann was born in 1832 in Somerset and her christening took place on December 25th, 1833 in Paul Street Independent, Taunton, Somerset.1 2   Ann's father was Isaac Jewett and her mother was Mary. She had three brothers named William, Charles and Joseph.  She was the second youngest of the four children.
