Maud was born on April 19th, 1876 in Alderbury, Wiltshire and her christening took place on June 18th, 1876 in Saint Edmunds, Salisbury, Wiltshire.1  Maud's father was Thomas Hill and her mother was Fanny Ventham. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Frank, Fanny, Mary, Kate, Theodora and Eliza.  She was the third youngest of the eight children. She had four half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Frederick, Henry, John, Alfred, Sarah, Rachel, Charlotte, Mary, Georgina and Elizabeth.  She died at 8 months old in December 1876 in Alderbury, Wiltshire.2
