William John Gillings

William was born in September 1858 in Mile End, Middlesex.¹ William's father was William Gillings and his mother was Lucy Ann Faber. His maternal grandparents were John Faber and Lucy Bengough. He had three brothers and three sisters, named John, Thomas, Charles, Alice, Mary and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the seven children.
