Frederick was born in June 1873 in Bethnal Green, Middlesex.1   Frederick's father was Frederick Thomas Day and his mother was Sarah Jane Faber.  His maternal grandparents were John Faber and Lucy Bengough. He had a brother and a sister, named Walter and Sarah.  He was the oldest of the three children.
