William was born on September 14th, 1910 in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.1   William's father was William George LENTON and his mother was Lillie HALL.  His paternal grandparents were George LENTON and Caroline WILKINSON; his maternal grandparents were George HALL and Margaret Crowley SHILTON. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named Cyril, George, Un-named, John, Albert, Walter, Wilfred, Cecil, Priscilla, Annie and Edith.  He was the fifth youngest of the twelve children.  He died due to diabetes, Hyperglycalmic coma, Diabetes Melitus, at the age of 34 on January 13th, 1945 in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.  He was buried in 1945 in Oaston Road Cemetary, Nuneaton, Warwickshire.1
