Mary was born in 1831 in Atherstone, Warwickshire.  Mary's father was Joseph BRIERLEY and her mother was Elizabeth <UNKNOWN>. She had five brothers and a sister, named Charles, William, John, Joseph, Mark and Hannah.  She was the fourth oldest of the seven children.
