Ita was born in Lesko, Poland.  Ita's father was Mordecai Markus Ziffer and her mother was Feige Berger.  Her paternal grandparents were Yaakov Zvi Ziffer and Hannah  Yenta (Anchy) Rosenberg; her maternal grandparents were Moshe Aharon Berger and Sheindel Yafa Feller. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Yaakov Zvi, Shelomo, Yona, Matilda and Rivka.  She died  due to Holocaust.
