Ipoy was born in 1913 in Subotica, Serbia (former Yugoslavia and Austro Hungary).  Ipoy's father was Layosh Perl and his mother was Kataline Milankovics.  His paternal grandparents were Sandor Perl and Betti; his maternal grandparents were Milankovics and <Unknown>. He had six brothers and a sister, named Attila, Lehel, Kolos, Elod Arpad, Gellert, Sandor and Zita.  He died  due to Holocaust at the age of 30 in 1943 in Subotica, Serbia (former Yugoslavia and Austro Hungary).
