Tonia, known as Tonche, was born in 1905.  Tonche's father was Shimon Friedlander and her mother was Minzi Mina Freundlich.  Her paternal grandparents were Zvi Friedlander and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were Samuel Zeinwel Freundlich and Estera Blima. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Samuel Zeinwel, Samuel, Yehoshua, Jutte and Clara.
