Marta was born in Barcelona.  Marta's father was Tomás Giménez Casas and her mother was Dolores Compte Bonnevie.  Her paternal grandparents were Salvador Giménez and Teresa Casas; her maternal grandparents were Pedro Compte and Teresa Bonnevie. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Tomás, Juan, Teresa, Francisca, Dolores and Marta.  She died in Barcelona.
