Robert's father was Robert Winch (Ag Labourer b Twinstead) and his mother was Rhoda Watkinson (of Maplestead). His paternal grandparents were Samuel Winch (b Twinstead Ag Lab) and Sarah Frost (b Pebmarsh Silk Weaver & Strawplatter). He had two brothers named Frank and Charles. He died about May 1952 in Barking Essex. The funeral took place on May 8th, 1952 at the Rippleside Cemetery Barking. He was buried on May 8th, 1952 at the Rippleside Cemetery Barking.¹

General Notes
- You telling me, that Grandad would bring Nans stout home for her.Reminds me of Nanny Winch,she would go to THE HOPE, and get Grandads mild. Pop her head into the public bar,to tell him dinner would be ready in 15 mins(Sundays).
  He was a Drayman for many years,and i was told walk from Barking to E-London every day and then back.
  In the early years,both Nans must have known each other.The Winch"S lived at 155 Howard Rd,when i came on the scene.
  Although i think that lived a little further up,untill thay got some bomb damage.
