Hephzibah was born in 1845 in Barking Essex.1   Hephzibah's father was William James Pollard (Fisherman) and her mother was Hephzibah Ashton (of Ilford).  Her paternal grandparents were James Pollard (net maker Fisherman) and Jane Malpas; her maternal grandparents are Ashton and <Unknown>. She had a brother and a sister, named Joseph and Clara.  She was the second oldest of the three children.  She died at the age of 9 in 1854 in Barking Essex.2
