Sarah was born about June 1839 in Barking Essex and her christening took place on July 3rd, 1839 at St Margaret's Barking.¹ Sarah's father was William Henry (Fisherman) Page (d Aldgate) and her mother was Sarah Gt Ilford Pollard. Her paternal grandparents were Joshuar (Wheelwright) Page and Letitia Shelshear (b Margaret Rothings Essex); her maternal grandparents were James Pollard (net maker Fisherman) and Jane Malpas. She had a brother and three sisters, named William, Clara, Eliza and Esther.
