Albert was born on August 1st, 1879 in Rippleside Area and his christening took place on August 11th, 1878 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.1   Albert's father was Alfred Mildren (StokerGasWorks bur D 1598 Rip) and his mother was Ann Smart (bur D 1598 Rippleside).  His paternal grandfather was William Mildren and his paternal grandmother is <Unknown>. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Alfred, Walter, Emily, Edith, Ada and Annie.  He was the youngest of the seven children.
