John was born on November 5th, 1808 in Barking Essex and his christening took place on March 15th, 1809 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.1   John's father is Richard Henn and his mother was Ann Dunsdon.  His maternal grandparents were Thomas Dunsdon and Margaret Clough. He had eight brothers and a sister, named Charles, Thomas, Benjamin, Richard, James, Charles, William, George and Mary.  He was the fifth youngest of the ten children.  John is no longer alive.

John and Sarah were married in a religious ceremony on January 10th, 1834 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.3   They had two daughters named Betsey and Sarah.
