William was born in 1837 in Barking Essex.  William's father was William Douss (Fisherman) and his mother was Sarah Ann Williams (of Ipswich).  His paternal grandparents were JOHN Douss and ANN. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Alexander, David, James, Elizabeth and Eliza.  He died at the age of 54 in 1891.

William and Eleanor were married in a religious ceremony on May 16th, 1859 at St Leonard Shoreditch Middlesex.2   They had two sons and a daughter, named William, William and Ellen.


William's second family

William and Eleanor were married in a religious ceremony in September 1868 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.3   They had two sons named Edgar and Frederick.
