Sarah was born about August 1835 in Barking Essex and her christening took place on September 13th, 1835 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.1   Sarah's father was James Crawley (B Stevenage Herts Fisherman/Dock Lab) and her mother was Ann Roberts? (b Aldgate ). She had three brothers and three sisters, named James, Richard, John, Jane, Emma and Mary.  She was the second oldest of the seven children.  She died in March 1898 in Grimsby.  The funeral took place in March 1898.2

Sarah and Charles were married in a religious ceremony on April 20th, 1856 at St Dunstan Stepney.3   They had a son and six daughters, named Charles, Emma, Sarah, Emma, Kate, Georgina and Jessie.
