Barbara's father was Robert Cooper (Yarmouth Freedom 1653 Will PCC) and her mother was Margaret Albertson (Will 19 May 1684).  Her paternal grandparents were John Cooper (YARMOUTH  Freedom 1617) and Mary Mihel; her maternal grandfather was John Albertson and her maternal grandmother is <Unknown>. She had three brothers and a sister, named John, Thomas, Samuel and Elizabeth.

Barbara and Samuel were married in a religious ceremony in 1667 in Great Yarmouth Norfolk.1
