Armando was born on August 29th, 1918.  Armando's father was Salvatore Rao and his mother was Giosia Vilella.  His paternal grandfather is Antonio "Antonino" Rao and his paternal grandmother was Venera "Teresa" Recupero. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Antonio "Anthony", Frank V., Louis, Joseph A., Teresa and Emma.  He was the fifth oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 57 in January 1976.
