Elvina BARNETT

Elvina was born in 1817. Elvina's father was Ezekiel BARNETT and her mother was Olive LNU. She had three brothers and five sisters, named James, Irvine Yancy, Asa Franklin, Lucinda, Parry, Elmira, Elizabeth M. and Sarah Ann. She was the sixth oldest of the nine children.

  There is a grave, next to Ezekiel Barnett, her father, marked ELVYE, no dates or last name, in the Barnett Cemetery, Lauderdale Co. AL.
  
  Next to Elvye's grave is a child's: Tomas E. (BARNETT), b. 25 Mar 1884, d. 26 Jul 1885, relationship unclear.
  
  Helped to raise Asa's children after Asa's wife died in 1859, appears in brother A. F.'s household in 1870. Not in Asa's h/hold in 1860 or 1880 census. Note that despite the closeness of their names, Elmira, Elvina and Elizabeth were different women: Elmira d. 1861, but Elvina appears in father Ezekiel's will in 1871 as single; and Elizabeth was married by then.
