Source: 1st Dunboe Presbyterian Church, from Altibrian, father given as James, Farmer, witnesses were Samuel McClements and James McClements.
There is a Robert in the Griffiths Valuation which may be this man who is having children in the 1850s. Apart from the children shown on this tree, there are five more births to a Robert in 1st Dunboe baptismal register. However, after the fourth birth to this Robert, the fifth child, who was baptised on the same day in 1861 is given as being from Bratwell rather than Altibrian. This suggests two Roberts rather than twins. Furthermore, an 1868 birth in Bratwell is the first to give the mother's name - Martha McNickle and there is evidence that she and her Robert were not married until 1860.
A message on Genforum from a David McClements of Alaska, left in 2000 says: "My GreatGrandfather was Robert McClamont who married Martha Nichol at Coleraine, County Londonderry, N.I., on 28 May, 1860. The family moved to Canada in the 19th century and after living for a while in Ontario, they migrated westward to Brandon, MB. My Grandfather was David McClement who died at Langbank, SK in about 1960. I would appreciate any information on family members in Canada, Ireland, or wherever." I was unable to contact this man as the email address bounced. If we assume that Robert and Martha did not have any illegitimate children, their marriage in 1860, if correct, means they cannot be the parents of the first four children attributed here to this Robert.
Robert did have another child as he left his farm to his son, William McClement, in his will. This child is NOT recorded in 1st Dunboe records.
