Resided at Cullyvenny in the Parish of Macosquin when she married. Father given as Robert Brewster. Witnessed by John Brewster who could not write. Married in Coleraine Registry Office.
Rather oddly, she declares in the 1911 census that she gave birth to four children, of which three were still alive. I know however, that she gave birth to five children of which 4 were still alive. I can think of no explanation for this. It can only be coincidence that in the 1901 census, there were indeed only three children with her as the fourth, Anna, was with her grandfather, Robert Brewster that night. Unless...... Anna Maggie was NOT her daughter, but the daughter of one of Robert Brewster's other two children John and Sara, who already have an "adopted" daughter, Mary Brewster.
The "R" in her name comes from David Brewster's tree. BB: I think R may have stood for Robert/Roberta because he must have had a son named Robert that died before Ann was born. It would have to be something like that for David's father to remember it I think.....BG: Yes, I agree, there really should have been a Robert since both he and his father were Robert. Married in 1836 and Thomas not born til 1842, there probably were other kids including a Robert, who may well then have died before Anne was born.
Linde Lunney: My grandmother Isa Kirkpatrick was from Crevolea, her friend or neighbour Mary Brewster made her wedding nightdress and a christening robe for her out of fine lawn linen with pintucks and ribbons. All the descendants since have been christened in it to date.
I don't think they were related but I haven't got the Kirkpatricks and their connections, Allens, Henrys etc completely sorted.
I think your Mary Brewster is the same woman. She would have been older than my grand mother. My great grandfather moved to Dromore at some point, he was there in the census of 1911 with a shop. John Kirkpatrick
