Source: 1901 Census: Crosscandly Glebe, 2nd Class house, William Boyd, Head, Pres., 27, Farmer, Not Married. He says he is living with three maiden aunts! But..........
A William Boyd was registered in Civil Records, born 5th Jan 1872, in Crosscanly, to Nancy Boyd; no father is given and she has no formerly name. I am assuming this is the same man as the one in the 1901 census, and that he was the illegitimate son of the lady he describes as his aunt in the census.
