1901 Census: Crosscandly Glebe, living with William Boyd, Nancy Boyd, Aunt, Pres., 45, Seamstress, Not Married. But.....
Civil Records show a Nancy Boyd, mother of William Boyd, born 5th January 1872 in Crosscanly, no father, no former name. This has to be her so she was the mother of the William with whom she was living and not his aunt. An Eliza Boyd of Crosscanly was Present at Birth; was this her mother? If she is giving her correct age in the census, admittedly unlikey, she was only 16 when William was born.

Nancy, Martha and Jane Boyd all signed the Ulster Covenant on the same page - in fact only one hand wrote all three names - this tells me that they were still unmarried by 1912.
