Helen Henderson Swanson became The bride, who is an accomplished vocalist, well known throughout the city and province, is a daughter of Mr. and Mr. John Swanson, and the bridegroom is a son of Mrs. Upton and the late Mr. William R. Upton of this city. Rev. James McNeill performed the marriage ceremony yesterday afternoon at 2:30. in Grace Presbyterian church, which was beautifully decorated for the occasion. Traditional ivory satin formed the bride's lovely gown, fashioned with the utmost simplicity on long fitted lines. Elbow sleeves of exquisite lace, matching the lace on her bridal cap were its adornment, and her veil was attached to the can with a single strand of orange blossoms. Madame Butterfly rosea and liliea of the valley In a shower hnnnuet were the brides flowers. She was given in marriage by her father. A ruffled caoe of soft blue complemented the pastel pink of the bridesmaid's georgette rock, and she wore a small lace straw hat. Miss Mave McLaren was the Brides only attendant. Johanna Hill roses formed the bridesmaid's bouquet. Johanna Hill roses also formed the corsage worn by the bride's mother: Mrs. W. Upton’s corsage was of red roses. Mr. John Bayne, a cousin of the bridegroom, was best man, and the ushers were Mr. James Swanson, of Chilliwack, B.C., brother of the bride. and Dr. A. C. Steeves. Another brother of the bride, Mr. William Swanson sang "The Day of Golden Promise" during the signing of the register, and Mr. Harry Rimmer played the wedding music. A three-tiered wedding cake centred the bride's table, decorated with blue; and pink sweet peas, when a reception was held following the ceremony, at the Tea Kettle Inn. Mr. John Swanson and Mrs. W. Upton received with the bridal party. Later, Dr. and Mrs. Upton left by motor for the mountain resorts, the bride traveling in a smart ensemble of blue crepe with grey squirrel trimming and accessories of grey. They will make their home in Roxborough on their return
