JOHN GEDDES, born Moffat, March 1793 ; educated at Univ. of Edinburgh; licen. by Presb. of Lochmaben; tutor in family of William Inglis, W.S. ; ord. (assistant and successor) to High Kirk Parish, Paisley, 9th Feb.1821 ; pres. by the Magistrates and Council 13th Oct. 1831 ; trans, and adm. 19th June 1832 ; died 24th May 1833. He marr. 21st March 1821, Dora (died 25th Dec. 1875), eldest daugh. of James Thomson, Oatridge, and had issue — Jane Thomson, born 20th March 1822; Robert, born 16th April 1824; Janet Donaldson, born 3rd June 1825; James Thomson, born 23rd Jan. 1827 ; Dora Thomson, born 15th June 1831. Publications — Two Occasional Sermons (Glasgow, 1825).
