Cathrine was born on February 21st, 1830 in Monkton.1  Cathrine's father was James Roney and her mother was Catherine Balmer.  Her paternal grandparents were Arthur Roney and Catherine McKinlay. She had a sister named Mary.  She was the older of the two children.  She died due to a respiratory problem and/or pneumonia, Bronchitis, 14 days, at the age of 64 on November 15th, 1894 in Paisley.
