John's father was John McLuckie and his mother was Helen Baxter. His paternal grandparents were John McLuckie and Margaret Elizabeth Henderson. He had five brothers and four sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Robert, Alexander, William, James, William, Elisabeth, Margaret, Helen, Alison and <Unknown>. John and Robert were twins. He died at the age of 89 on April 20th, 1952 in Illinois. He was buried in Illinois.³³
