Andrew's father was Andrew Hynes and his mother was Jessie Henderson. His maternal grandparents were William Henderson and Elisabeth Duncan Dick. He had three brothers and two sisters, named John, William, Marshall, Mary and Katherine. He was the third youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 61 on May 17th, 1974 in Allegheny.
