Sarah's father was James Henry and her mother was Nancy Hill. She had four brothers and a sister, named Samuel, William, Hugh, James and Margaret.  She was the third oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 72 in March 1947 in Kilmarnock.  She was buried on March 28th, 1947 in Port Glasgow.^1 1

  • Ewan Douglas cycled from Renfrew to Post Glasgow in about 1944 (about 8 yrs old), having heard that his father had an aunt living there. He knocked on the door, presented himself, and was invited to tea and scones. She would have been around 60. His father had not had contact with her for many years.
    She was probably unmarried (surname Henry) and Ewan never heard his father mention anything about cousins.
