Alison's father was Peter Dunsire and her mother was Elizabeth Henderson. Her maternal grandparents were William Henderson and Elisabeth Duncan Dick. She had four sisters named Elizabeth, Christina, Margaret and Jessie. She was the third oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 86 on March 24th, 1994 in Los Angeles.
