Margaret's father was John Wilson Crawford and her mother was Susan Faulds Gatherer. She had two brothers and a sister, named Peter, George and Ann Mary.  She was the second oldest of the four children. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named John, James, Robert and Jessie.  She died at the age of 86 in 1986 in West Kilbride.
