Isabella's father was Archibald Carmichael and her mother was Isabella Hutchison Gardiner.  Her paternal grandparents were Archibald Carmichael and Ann McQueen. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Archibald, William, Minnie, Beatrice, Annie, Maggie and Minnie.  She was the second youngest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 82 on July 17th, 1971 in Eastwood.  The funeral took place on July 20th, 1971 in Glasgow.  She was cremated on July 20th, 1971 in Glasgow.^3 3
