Robert was born on November 19th, 1872 in Philadelphia and his baptism took place there on September 14th, 1873.1 2 Robert's father was Robert Andrews and his mother was Sarah Wray. His maternal grandparents were William Wray and Rachel Simpson. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Sallie, Walter, Rachel, Mary and Bertha.
