Robert was born in 1888 in Paisley.1 Robert's father was Robert Allison and his mother was Helen Leckie. His maternal grandparents were Archibald Leckie and Margaret Fraser. He had a brother and three sisters, named Archibald, Janet, Helen and Janet. He was the third oldest of the five children.-
