Elaine's father was Hans Gunderson and her mother was Beatrice Mary Lariviere (Phillips). Her paternal grandparents were Sven Gundersen (Gunderson) and Gurine (Gertrude) Madsen (Peterson); her maternal grandparents were Antoine (Anthony) Lariviere and Agnes (Aggie) Elinore Villeneuve. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, Leo, Jim, Noel, Gary, Joseph, Betty and Shirley.-
