Mark was born in 1695.  Mark's father was Richard Wells (Ancient Planter) and his mother is Mary Martin.  His maternal grandparents were Thomas Martin and Brasseur. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Richard, Martin, Sarah and Clare.  He was the fifth oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 15 in 1710.
