Thomas was born in 1762.  Thomas' father is Thomas Wallen and his mother is Mary Cox.  His paternal grandfather was Elisha Walling Wallen and his paternal grandmother is Mary Blevins; his maternal grandparents are William Cox and <Unknown>. He had four brothers named Stephen, Elisha, William and Joseph.  He is the fourth oldest of the five children.
