Helen was born about 1824.  Helen's father was Martin Varner and her mother was Elizabeth Evaline Inglis (English Inglish).  Her maternal grandfather was William Joseph Inglis and her maternal grandmother is Sarah Anderson. She had a brother and two sisters, named Stephen Austin, Martha Ann and Indiana Penelope.  She died about 1846.
