Edith was born about 1752 in Chowan Co. North Carolina.  Edith's father was Edward Ned Vann Sr and her mother was Charity Barnes (Ani'-Ga'tâge'wi = Kituah or Wild Potato).  Her paternal grandparents are John B TRADER Vann and Anikawi (Ani'-Kawi' = Deer Clan (Ga-ho-ga)); her maternal grandparents were Richard Barnes Jr and April Tikami Hop Cornstalk Turkey (Ani'-Ga'tâge'wi = Kituah or Wild Potato). She had three brothers and a sister, named James Clement B, Thomas B, Avery and Susannah.  She was the third oldest of the five children. She had seven half-brothers named John Joseph, Charles B, Edward B, Dempsey, Henry, James Clement and Thomas.  She died about 1805 in Wilkes Co, Ga.
