William Thornton

William was born on December 14th, 1680 in Petsworth Parish, Gloucester Co., VA. William's father was Francis Thornton and his mother was Alice Stafford Savage. His paternal grandparents were William Immigrant Thornton Jr and Elizabeth Rowland; his maternal grandparents were Capt Anthony Savage and Alice Stafford. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Francis, Rowland, Elizabeth, Margaret and Sarah. He was the fourth oldest of the six children. He died about 1743 in Brunswick Parish, King George Co., VA.
