John Walper was born on February 16th, 1842.  John Walper's father was Jeremiah Newton Snyder and his mother was Jane Burns Comegys.  His maternal grandparents were John Comegys and Elizabeth Marshall. He had a brother and five sisters, named James William, Susan Catherine, Elizabeth Marshall, Margaret Comegys, Anna Phineas and Octavia Jeanette.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 80 on August 19th, 1922.
